Can I eat chicken feet if I have high uric acid levels?
Disease description:
I personally love eating chicken feet and consider myself a chicken feet enthusiast. However, I currently have high uric acid levels and would like to know if people with high uric acid can eat chicken feet.
Patients with high uric acid levels should try to avoid or limit consumption of chicken feet. Chicken feet contain a moderate amount of purines, and their consumption may increase uric acid production in the body, thereby worsening hyperuricemia or triggering gout attacks. Patients who have already been diagnosed with hyperuricemia or gout should especially strictly control their intake of high-purine foods. It should also be noted that moderate consumption of chicken feet may not cause significant adverse effects for patients without active gout flare-ups and whose uric acid levels are only mildly elevated, although purine intake should still be kept within a reasonable range overall. Additionally, cooking methods such as boiling are recommended to reduce the purine content in the food. If there are any concerns or special circumstances, it is advisable to consult a physician or nutritionist for professional guidance.
