Can I take a shower during menstruation?

Disease description:

I’ve had my period for the past two days. It’s been extremely hot lately, but after showering, I noticed my menstrual flow decreased. My elderly family members say it’s best not to bathe during menstruation; however, I feel that skipping baths is unhygienic. I’d like to know—can I take a shower while on my period?

Hello, During menstruation, women are advised to take a shower rather than a tub bath. Immune function is relatively lower during this period; therefore, it is recommended to use warm (not cold) water for bathing to avoid catching a chill or developing a cold. Additionally, after bathing during this special physiological phase, it is best to avoid going outdoors immediately—take extra care to stay warm. Adequate rest is also especially important during menstruation. We hope the above information is helpful to you. Wishing you a pleasant and healthy life!
