Methods of Artificial Insemination

There are two commonly used assisted reproductive techniques: in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine insemination (IUI). IVF involves retrieving sperm from the male partner and eggs from the female partner, fertilizing them in a laboratory to form embryos, and then transferring the resulting embryo(s) into the woman’s uterus. IUI involves collecting sperm from the male partner’s semen and directly placing it into the woman’s uterine cavity using a medical procedure.
