Introduction
Gastritis is a common gastrointestinal disorder caused by irregular lifestyles or poor dietary habits. Chronic gastritis is less apparent than acute gastritis and lacks specificity; most patients are typically asymptomatic. When symptoms do occur, they primarily include persistent upper abdominal fullness, discomfort, or pain—especially after eating—as well as acid reflux, belching, nausea, and loss of appetite. In addition to the above manifestations, chronic atrophic gastritis may present further features.

In daily life, some people may not pay much attention to their diet, leading to various stomach problems. What are the early symptoms of gastritis?

What Is Gastritis and Its Early Symptoms

Gastritis is a common gastrointestinal disorder caused by irregular lifestyle or poor eating habits. Chronic gastritis is less obvious than acute gastritis and lacks specificity. Most patients are usually asymptomatic. When symptoms do occur, they mainly include persistent fullness, discomfort, or pain in the upper abdomen—especially after eating—as well as acid reflux, belching, nausea, and loss of appetite. In addition to the above symptoms, chronic atrophic gastritis may also present with tongue inflammation, anemia, weight loss, and weakness.

Among the early symptoms of gastritis, indigestion symptoms such as loss of appetite, aversion to food, nausea, vomiting, post-meal bloating, belching, and acid reflux are common but non-specific. Loss of appetite may be an early sign of gastritis even without stomach pain. If stomach pain occurs simultaneously, liver disease such as hepatitis can be ruled out, and gastritis should be particularly suspected. Some patients may unconsciously restrict their daily food intake due to bloating and belching after meals, resulting in weight loss, emaciation, and fatigue. Early gastric cancer may also manifest as mild nausea and a feeling of fullness after eating.

In everyday life, it's important to develop healthy habits, ensure sufficient sleep, quit smoking and drinking, and avoid spicy, irritating foods and seafood. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health and a happy life.
