Introduction
For eyelid eczema, non-hormonal ointments such as boric acid, zinc chloride, and borneol ointment can be used. These medications do not contain hormones and are suitable for treating mild eczema symptoms. If the above treatments are ineffective, hormonal ointments such as oxytetracycline hydrochloride and acetic acid cortisone eye ointment may be used. This ointment contains hormonal components and can also help improve eczema symptoms.

Eczema of the eyelid can be treated with non-hormonal ointments or hormonal ointments, depending on individual circumstances.

1. Non-hormonal ointments

Commonly used options include boric acid and zinc chloride with borneol ointment, tacrolimus ointment, and paeonol ointment. These medications do not contain hormones and have certain anti-inflammatory effects. They are suitable for individuals with sensitive eyelid skin, pregnant women, infants, or those with mild eczema symptoms.

2. Hormonal ointments

Common examples include tetracycline hydrochloride and acetic acid cortisone eye ointment, and tobramycin-dexamethasone eye ointment. These ointments contain hormonal components and also possess anti-inflammatory properties. They may be used when eyelid eczema is hypertrophic (thickened) or when non-hormonal treatments have been ineffective, helping to improve eczema symptoms.

When a patient develops eyelid eczema, it is recommended to seek medical advice at a hospital and use the above medications under a doctor's guidance. Self-medication should be avoided to prevent adverse reactions.
