Where is the incision made for nasal polyp surgery?
Nasal polyp surgery is performed through the anterior nares into the nasal cavity and sinuses, typically carried out within the nasal cavity and sinuses. Nasal polyps are a relatively common clinical condition, with main symptoms including nasal congestion and purulent discharge. Surgical removal of nasal polyps can achieve a curative effect. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. Prior to surgery, the physician uses a syringe to inject anesthetic around the patient's nasal cavity for local anesthesia.
2. A nasal endoscope is inserted through the anterior nares into the nasal cavity and sinuses. A probe is then used to locate the base of the nasal polyp. A polypectomy loop is placed around the polyp at its base, and the wire is tightened to completely remove the polyp.
3. After removing the nasal polyp, some sinus openings become visible. These openings are enlarged to clear polyps and pus from within the sinuses.
4. At the end of the procedure, the surgeon checks for any remaining polyps or pus, and packs the nasal cavity with Vaseline gauze strips or expandable sponge material.
