Introduction
Tumors in the right parotid gland can cause swelling in the parotid region, facial discomfort, and difficulty swallowing. A mass may appear in front of the ear or below the earlobe. Benign tumors grow slowly and are typically painless, whereas malignant tumors grow rapidly and may be tender upon palpation. As the tumor enlarges, it can lead to facial asymmetry. If the tumor invades the facial nerve, it may result in facial pain and facial paralysis. Invasion of surrounding muscles, blood vessels, and nerves can lead to difficulty swallowing.

Right parotid gland tumors mainly cause symptoms such as swelling in the parotid region, facial discomfort, and difficulty swallowing.

1. Swelling in the parotid region

A lump appears in the area in front of the ear or below the earlobe in affected patients. When the tumor is benign, it grows slowly and usually does not cause pain. When malignant, the tumor grows rapidly, feels painful upon palpation, and has a hard texture. It may adhere to surrounding tissues, resulting in poorly defined borders and limited mobility when pushed.

2. Facial discomfort

As the tumor increases in size, it causes facial asymmetry. If the tumor invades the facial nerve, it can lead to facial pain. Once the facial nerve is compressed, nerve signal transmission is impaired, leading to loss of normal control over facial muscles and resulting in facial paralysis.

3. Difficulty swallowing

In advanced cases of malignant tumors, invasion into surrounding muscles, blood vessels, and nerves can restrict mouth opening and cause difficulty swallowing.
