Is it helpful to take vitamins for bad breath?
Generally, taking vitamins is not effective for treating bad breath.
Bad breath may result from poor oral hygiene or from oral diseases such as mouth ulcers, periodontal infections, and dental caries. Additionally, conditions like sinusitis or acute pharyngitis may also cause bad breath. Since bad breath is not directly related to vitamin deficiency, taking vitamins usually does not help. Treatment should instead target the underlying cause. For instance, if poor oral hygiene is the cause, improving oral care—such as brushing teeth regularly in the morning and evening and rinsing the mouth after meals—can help alleviate bad breath.
After experiencing bad breath, individuals should try to avoid or refrain from consuming foods that contribute to it, such as garlic and raw onions. At the same time, they should drink plenty of water to keep the mouth moist and maintain balanced nutrition with a rational diet, including more fresh fruits and vegetables, which can be beneficial for recovery.
