Introduction
Female factors include: 1. Congenital developmental abnormalities; 2. Anovulation, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc.; 3. Inflammatory diseases such as intrauterine adhesions after abortion, tubal obstruction, pelvic inflammatory disease, and cervicitis; 4. Pelvic tuberculosis, endocrine disorders, immune system diseases, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and other causes of infertility.

In daily life, infertility affects relatively few people. There are many causes of infertility—what are they?

What Are the Causes of Infertility?

Male factors include azoospermia, abnormal sperm development, and low sperm survival rate.

Female factors include: 1. Congenital developmental abnormalities; 2. Anovulation, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), etc.; 3. Inflammatory conditions such as intrauterine adhesions after abortion, tubal blockage, pelvic inflammatory disease, cervicitis; 4. Pelvic tuberculosis, endocrine disorders, immune system diseases, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and other causes of infertility.

Infertility treatment requires joint examination and treatment for both partners. First, a semen analysis should be performed on the male partner. If poor semen quality is detected, such as oligospermia, asthenospermia, or teratospermia, specialized urological or andrological treatment is needed. For women, ovulatory function must be evaluated. Currently, the most accurate method is monitoring ovulation via transvaginal ultrasound. If ovulation is normal, a hysterosalpingography (HSG) with oil-based contrast should be performed to assess tubal patency. When conditions such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, stage I or II endometriosis, or other indications for laparoscopic surgery are present, laparoscopy can be used to simultaneously evaluate tubal patency and any pigment-like changes in the fallopian tubes. Additionally, assessment of endometrial thickness and morphology is necessary. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you happiness and good health!
