Five teas that are good for the liver
There is no such thing as "five teas that are good for the liver," but some teas that may support liver health include chrysanthemum tea, cassia seed tea, and dandelion tea.
1. Chrysanthemum Tea
Chrysanthemum tea has a slightly bitter and sweet taste with a cool nature. It benefits the lung and liver meridians, helping to dispel wind, clear heat, calm the liver, improve vision, and eliminate internal heat and toxic pathogens. It is suitable for conditions such as wind-heat感冒, headaches, red eyes, and blurred vision. However, it is not recommended for individuals with yang deficiency or excessive cold in the body.
2. Cassia Seed Tea (Jue Ming Zi Tea)
Cassia seed has a sweet, bitter, and slightly salty taste with a mildly cool nature, affecting the liver and large intestine meridians. It helps moisten the intestines and relieve constipation, clears internal heat, and supports vision recovery. It is commonly used to alleviate symptoms such as eye redness, light sensitivity, excessive tearing, headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, and constipation. It is not recommended for people suffering from diarrhea or low blood pressure.
3. Dandelion Tea
All parts of the dandelion plant can be used medicinally. When prepared as a tea, it has a bitter, slightly sweet, and cooling taste. It helps clear heat and detoxify the body, resolve nodules, reduce swelling, remove dampness, promote urination, and protect the liver. However, it should not be used by individuals with external cold due to yang deficiency or those with weak spleen and stomach function.
