How to treat cough and asthma
Cough and wheezing generally refer to symptoms of coughing and difficulty breathing. Treatment for patients with these symptoms typically includes general management, medication, and surgical intervention.
1. General Management
Patients with the above symptoms should adjust clothing promptly according to weather changes to avoid triggering or worsening coughing and wheezing. Patients with allergic constitutions should undergo allergy testing early and take appropriate preventive isolation measures to reduce recurrence of symptoms.
2. Medication
Under a doctor's guidance, patients may use medications such as montelukast sodium tablets, ephedrine hydrochloride and diphenhydramine tablets, or salbutamol aerosol, which help relieve bronchial spasms and alleviate symptoms like wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing. For patients showing signs of infection, targeted anti-infective therapy may be added under medical supervision using drugs such as succinate erythromycin tablets, azithromycin dispersible tablets, or ribavirin tablets.
3. Surgical Treatment
For patients who do not respond to medication or have tumor-related lesions, surgical treatment may be considered based on medical advice to prevent further disease progression. Common procedures include bronchial thermoplasty and polyp removal under electronic laryngoscopy.
Besides the treatments mentioned above, patients with these symptoms may also require additional therapies such as physical therapy. It is recommended that patients seek medical evaluation early and follow professional guidance for symptomatic treatment.
