Introduction
After corneal injury, it is generally not recommended to consume raw or cold foods. Corneal injury refers to structural damage of the cornea caused by blunt trauma, high-pressure gas, or liquid冲击 on the eye. Common symptoms include decreased vision, pain, and photophobia. Treatment may involve antibiotic eye drops and antibiotic ointments according to symptoms. Whether surgical repair is needed depends on the severity of the corneal injury.

Corneal injury refers to structural damage of the cornea caused by blunt external force, high-pressure gas, or liquid impacting the eye. Common symptoms include decreased vision, pain, and photophobia. Symptomatic treatment may involve the use of antibiotic eye drops and ointments. Whether surgical repair is needed depends on the severity of the corneal damage. In daily life, maintaining personal hygiene and avoiding rubbing the eyes are important.

When the body's immunity is reduced, or when there is corneal injury or epithelial loss, bacteria can invade and infect the cornea. Bacteria, amoebae, and *Treponema pallidum* (the causative agent of syphilis) are common causes of keratitis. It is essential to strengthen eye care and develop good eye-use habits. Under a doctor’s guidance, patients may use antibiotic eye drops such as levofloxacin or chloramphenicol. Antibiotic ointments like chlortetracycline hydrochloride, tobramycin, or ofloxacin may also be used. For allergic keratitis, corticosteroid medications such as betamethasone cream may be prescribed under medical supervision. Consuming raw or cold foods may worsen symptoms of keratitis and hinder recovery; therefore, after corneal injury, eating raw or cold foods is generally not advised.

Patients with corneal injuries should avoid spicy and cold foods, as well as foods containing preservatives and artificial coloring. Instead, they should increase intake of protein-rich foods and those high in vitamin C to promote healing. It is also important to protect the eyes and prevent infection and visual fatigue.
