Introduction
Breast pain is not always suitable for treatment with a warm towel compress; the specific approach depends on the underlying cause. Breast pain can be categorized as physiological or pathological. It may arise from physiological factors such as puberty, pregnancy, premenstrual phase, or after sexual activity, or it may be caused by conditions like mammary gland hyperplasia. In general, applying a warm towel compress can help alleviate the discomfort of breast swelling and pain.

Breast pain is not always suitable for application of a warm towel. If it is caused by physiological reasons, using a warm towel may be appropriate; however, if the pain results from pathological conditions, applying a warm towel is generally not recommended.

1. Can be used

If breast pain is due to physiological causes such as puberty, pregnancy, premenstrual phase, or after sexual activity, applying a warm towel is generally acceptable. The warmth can promote local blood circulation and help relieve the sensation of swelling and pain.

2. Should not be used

If breast pain is caused by pathological conditions such as mastitis or mammary gland hyperplasia, especially when symptoms like redness and swelling of the breast are present, applying a warm towel is usually not advised. The heat may accelerate blood flow in the breast, potentially expanding the area of inflammation and worsening the condition.

When experiencing breast pain, it is advisable to reduce intake of high-salt foods and avoid drinking coffee.
