Introduction
In summer, it is appropriate to drink some wax gourd water, lemon water, green tea, etc., which have auxiliary diuretic effects. However, food cannot replace medication and can only help alleviate symptoms. It is important to avoid drinking tea on an empty stomach, as this may cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Note that food should not be used as a substitute for medication; in clinical practice, diuretic drugs are generally used to relieve symptoms.

During summer, it is appropriate to drink适量冬瓜水 (winter melon water), lemon water, green tea, etc., which have auxiliary diuretic effects. However, food cannot replace medication and can only help alleviate symptoms.

1. Winter Melon Water

Winter melon is a cold-natured, light food. When bodily swelling occurs, drinking an appropriate amount of winter melon water can provide effective diuretic relief and significantly alleviate symptoms.

2. Lemon Water

Lemon water has a relatively mild diuretic effect and can effectively help relieve edema. This is primarily due to its rich nutritional content, which acts on the renal tubules in the kidneys to inhibit water reabsorption, thereby achieving a certain diuretic effect.

3. Green Tea

Green tea generally has diuretic and detoxifying properties, as well as expectorant and digestive benefits. It can also effectively stimulate the central nervous system. However, one should avoid drinking tea on an empty stomach, as it may cause gastric discomfort.

Note: Food cannot substitute for medication. In clinical practice, diuretic drugs such as hydrochlorothiazide tablets or furosemide tablets may be used under a doctor's guidance to relieve symptoms.
