Introduction
The time at which pain begins in bone metastases from liver cancer varies depending on individual circumstances. If the metastasis occurs in a part of the rib with less mechanical stress, involves a limited area, and the bone structure remains relatively strong, pain may start after about six months. However, if the metastasis affects weight-bearing bones such as the vertebrae or femur, where stress is greater and the infiltration is more extensive, and if treatment is not promptly administered, pain may develop within approximately three months.

In general, bone pain caused by liver cancer bone metastasis usually begins after about three or six months, depending on the specific circumstances. The detailed analysis is as follows:

1. Around three months

If the metastasis occurs in bones that bear more weight, such as the vertebrae or femur, and if the area of infiltration is extensive and timely treatment is not administered, pain may appear around three months.

2. Around six months

When liver cancer metastasizes to bones in areas under less mechanical stress, such as the ribs, and when the extent of bone involvement is small with relatively strong bone structure, pain symptoms may begin to appear after approximately six months as the disease progresses.

When bone metastasis occurs, further imaging examinations are required to understand the nature of the lesion. A biopsy may be necessary to determine the characteristics of the lesion.
