Introduction
The internal organs associated with hair are the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys. Hair is related to the functions of all five organs, but most closely connected to the liver and kidneys. Hair is considered "the surplus of blood." As long as the composition and circulation of blood are normal, hair will remain healthy. If there are impairments in blood production or circulation, hair may turn from black to white. Hair is a crystallization of blood; therefore, one can detect disorders of the five internal organs by observing the condition of the hair.

The internal organs associated with hair are the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys. Hair is related to the functions of all five organs, but its connection with the liver and kidneys is the closest. The detailed analysis is as follows:

1. Heart

The heart promotes the circulation of qi and blood. If the heart is impaired, blood cannot adequately reach the head, which affects hair growth.

2. Liver

The liver governs metabolism, filters the blood, and helps eliminate waste from the bloodstream. If the liver is impaired, sluggish blood flow fails to nourish the hair.

3. Spleen

The spleen governs transformation and transportation, converting food into blood and nutrients. Only when blood is sufficient and circulating normally can it properly supply the hair.

4. Lungs

The lungs absorb oxygen through respiration and exchange it with nutrients transformed by the spleen. These components then enter the bloodstream to nourish hair and skin.

5. Kidneys

The kidneys govern bone marrow and are responsible for blood production. When kidney function is strong and essence-blood is abundant, hair will be healthier.

In addition, hair is considered a crystallization of blood. One can detect imbalances in the five organs by observing the condition of the hair. As long as blood composition and circulation are normal, hair remains healthy. However, if blood production or circulation becomes impaired, hair may begin to turn from black to white.
