Introduction
If acupuncture is chosen as a treatment for post-stroke sequelae, specific acupoints are usually selected according to the patient's symptoms. Common symptom types include: cold limbs type, limb weakness type, aphasia disorder type, and consciousness disturbance type. It should be noted that the acupoints mentioned above are for reference only; the actual selection of acupoints must be determined based on the individual patient's condition and under the guidance of a qualified traditional Chinese medicine practitioner.

In general, when treating sequelae of stroke with acupuncture, specific acupoints are selected according to the patient's particular symptoms. Common symptom types include: cold extremities type, limb weakness type, aphasia disorder type, and consciousness disturbance type. Detailed analysis is as follows:

1. Cold Extremities Type

Acupuncture points commonly used include Taichong (LR3), Yongquan (KI1), Yinlingquan (SP9), Quchi (LI11), Hegu (LI4), and Neiguan (PC6).

2. Limb Weakness Type

Acupuncture may target the three hand yang meridians, three foot yang meridians, Sidu (TE9), Weizhong (BL40), Yanglingquan (GB34), and Taichong (LR3) points.

3. Aphasia Disorder Type

Acupuncture points such as those under the tongue, Yingxiang (LI20), Hegu (LI4), and Tinghui (GB2) may be used.

4. Consciousness Disturbance Type

Commonly used points include Dazhui (GV14) and Fengchi (GB20).
