Introduction
A chalazion may form when long-term consumption of high-fat or high-cholesterol foods leads to fat deposition that blocks the meibomian gland openings. It could also result from a deficiency of vitamin A in the body, causing excessive keratinization of the glandular epithelium and blocking the gland's outlet, thus forming a cyst. Additionally, when the meibomian gland is infected by pathogens, inflammation can stimulate blockage of the gland opening, leading to a localized raised lump.

Generally, meibomian cysts may be associated with factors such as a high-fat diet, vitamin deficiency, and inflammatory irritation. Specific analysis is as follows:

1. High-fat diet

Regular consumption of foods high in fat or cholesterol can lead to fat deposition, which may block the openings of the meibomian glands and result in cyst formation.

2. Vitamin deficiency

Habitual picky or selective eating may lead to a deficiency of vitamin A in the body, causing excessive keratinization of glandular epithelium. When the glandular outlet becomes blocked, a cyst may form.

3. Inflammatory irritation

After the meibomian glands are infected by pathogens such as bacteria or fungi, inflammatory stimulation can cause blockage of the gland openings, leading to localized raised lumps.

In addition, meibomian cysts could also be caused by eye stones. If symptoms persist for a prolonged period or are accompanied by other discomforts, it is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation and receive targeted treatment under a doctor's guidance.
