Introduction
Low body temperature in children may be caused by physiological factors or pathological factors such as adverse drug reactions, anemia, etc. It is important to keep warm and take appropriate medication to improve the condition. Besides these common causes, hypothyroidism could also be a possible reason. If symptoms do not improve after treatment, timely medical consultation is necessary.

Generally, low body temperature in children may be caused by physiological factors or pathological factors, such as adverse drug reactions, anemia, etc. The specific details are as follows:

I. Physiological Factors

If a child frequently stays in a cold environment and wears thin clothing, their body temperature may drop. They may also experience symptoms such as cold hands and feet and sensitivity to cold, which are normal physiological phenomena. In such cases, adding appropriate clothing and drinking more warm water can help improve these symptoms.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Adverse Drug Reactions

If a child has a fever and fails to take antipyretic medications according to medical instructions—especially if they take excessive doses—their body temperature may drop rapidly, leading to hypothermia. In such cases, prompt medical attention is necessary. Drinking red sugar ginger tea, hot milk, or similar warming beverages may help raise body temperature.

2. Anemia

Anemia is often related to inadequate nutritional intake or excessive blood loss. When blood volume becomes insufficient, the body cannot receive adequate energy supply, resulting in symptoms such as pale complexion, fatigue, and decreased body temperature. Treatment may include iron supplements such as ferrous gluconate syrup, ferrous fumarate granules, or compound ferrous sulfate granules, taken under a doctor's guidance.

In addition to the common causes mentioned above, hypothermia in children could also result from hypothyroidism, diabetes, or hypoglycemic coma. If symptoms do not improve after initial management, timely medical consultation is essential to avoid delayed treatment and worsening of the condition.
