Introduction
If high blood sugar is caused by consuming a large amount of sugary foods or beverages the previous day, resulting in transient hyperglycemia, a small amount of seabuckthorn can be consumed without causing discomfort and may even provide antioxidant benefits. However, if elevated blood sugar is due to diabetes, it is not recommended to consume seabuckthorn, as it contains 25% sugar; excessive intake may lead to increased blood glucose levels.

If high blood sugar is caused temporarily, you may consume sea buckthorn. However, if elevated blood glucose is due to diabetes, sea buckthorn should not be consumed. The details are as follows:

1. Can consume

If blood sugar rises temporarily—such as after consuming large amounts of high-sugar foods or drinks the previous day—you may eat a small amount of sea buckthorn. This will not cause adverse effects on the body. Sea buckthorn juice contains abundant vitamin C and is known as a natural vitamin reservoir. Consuming it helps supplement the body's vitamins, eliminate free radicals, and provide antioxidant benefits.

2. Should not consume

Fresh sea buckthorn fruit has a relatively high sugar content, with approximately 25 grams of sugar per 100 grams of fruit. In cases of high blood sugar caused by diabetes, eating sea buckthorn is not recommended, as it may significantly raise blood glucose levels and potentially trigger other cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Diabetic patients who wish to eat sea buckthorn should only do so in small quantities after their blood sugar levels have been stabilized. However, if any discomfort occurs after consumption, medical attention should be sought immediately.
