Introduction
Diarrhea, also known as loose bowels, during the preconception period may be caused by physiological factors or pathological conditions such as chronic gastritis and Crohn's disease. Specifically: if excessive raw or cold foods are consumed during the preconception period, or if adequate body warmth is not maintained, abdominal chilling may occur, leading to diarrhea. This can be alleviated by adjusting the diet and wearing more clothing.

Diarrhea, also known as loose stools, during the preconception period may be caused by physiological factors or pathological conditions such as chronic gastritis, Crohn's disease, etc. The details are as follows:

I. Physiological Factors

During the preconception period, consuming excessive raw or cold foods or failing to keep the body adequately warm may lead to a cold abdomen and result in diarrhea. Symptoms can be relieved by adjusting the diet and wearing more clothing.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Chronic Gastritis

Helicobacter pylori infection is the primary cause of chronic gastritis. Under inflammatory stimulation, the gastrointestinal mucosa may produce diarrhea. Patients can follow medical advice to take medications such as montmorillonite powder or rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated tablets for treatment.

2. Crohn's Disease

Crohn’s disease may be influenced by immune, genetic, and environmental factors, leading to nonspecific inflammatory disorders in the gastrointestinal mucosa. Abnormal tissue proliferation and granuloma formation may occur in the gastrointestinal mucosa, commonly causing the aforementioned symptoms. Treatment may involve surgical resection of the affected intestinal segment at a qualified medical facility.

In addition, diarrhea during the preconception period could also be caused by conditions such as duodenal ulcer, chronic pancreatitis, or hyperthyroidism. It is recommended to seek timely medical attention if any discomfort occurs during the preconception period.
