Introduction
A dull ache in the right side of the uterus within the lower abdomen may be caused by normal physiological reasons or pathological conditions, such as pelvic inflammatory disease or appendicitis. If a woman is currently in her menstrual period, the shedding of the endometrium may pull on uterine tissues, causing a mild pain on the right side of the uterus in the lower abdomen, which is considered a normal physiological phenomenon.

A dull pain in the right side of the lower abdomen near the uterus may be caused by normal physiological reasons or pathological conditions, such as pelvic inflammatory disease or appendicitis. The specific analysis is as follows:

I. Physiological Causes

If a woman is currently in her menstrual period, the shedding of the endometrium may pull on internal uterine tissues, causing a mild ache on the right side of the lower abdomen. This is considered a normal physiological phenomenon and does not require special treatment.

II. Pathological Causes

1. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)

If a woman does not maintain proper hygiene in the genital area during daily life, bacteria and other substances accumulating on underwear may travel upward into the pelvic cavity, potentially leading to pelvic inflammation. Due to the delicate nature of pelvic tissues, inflammation can trigger localized pain. It is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation and, under medical guidance, take medications such as cefixime tablets or azithromycin dispersible tablets for treatment.

2. Appendicitis

The appendix is primarily located in the lower right abdomen. The main cause of appendicitis is blockage of the appendix lumen, which increases internal pressure and leads to pain. Because this condition develops rapidly and causes severe pain, immediate hospitalization and surgical removal are necessary to prevent worsening of the condition.

Besides the above relatively common causes, similar symptoms could also result from salpingitis, ovarian cysts, rectal endometriosis, or other conditions. Patients should receive treatment according to their specific underlying cause.
