Under normal circumstances, natto offers various health benefits such as promoting cardiovascular health, improving intestinal function and relieving constipation, regulating blood glucose levels, enhancing bone density, and boosting immunity. Nattokinase, an enzyme found in natto, has thrombolytic and anti-inflammatory effects, capable of breaking down fibrin in blood vessels and reducing the formation of blood clots. It should be noted that excessive consumption of natto may lead to indigestion or allergic reactions; therefore, moderate intake is recommended.

  1. Promoting cardiovascular health: Nattokinase in natto has thrombolytic and anti-inflammatory effects. It can break down fibrin proteins in blood vessels, reduce the formation of blood clots, improve blood circulation, and thereby lower the risk of arterial plaque.

  2. Improving intestinal motility and relieving constipation: The mucin in natto acts as a water-soluble dietary fiber, absorbing water within the intestines, enhancing intestinal peristalsis, and thus alleviating symptoms such as dry stool and constipation.

  3. Regulating blood glucose: Natto contains compounds such as saponins and isoflavones, which can promote insulin secretion and inhibit increases in blood glucose levels, thereby assisting in lowering blood sugar.

  4. Enhancing bone density: Natto is rich in vitamin K2, a nutrient closely related to bone health. Vitamin K2 promotes the carboxylation of osteocalcin, enabling osteocalcin to bind more effectively with calcium, thus increasing bone density and helping prevent and improve osteoporosis.
