Introduction
The main causes of pimples appearing between the eyebrows include the following: 1. Clogged pores: Overactive sebaceous glands produce excess sebum, leading to acne formation. 2. Poor lifestyle habits: Hormonal imbalances—often triggered by irregular sleep patterns or stress—can indirectly stimulate excessive sebum production, resulting in pimples between the eyebrows. 3. Excessive consumption of fried foods, high-fat foods, and high-sugar foods: Slow metabolism associated with such dietary habits increases the likelihood of developing acne.

Acne on the face is a common concern for many adolescents. When pimples appear on the glabella (the area between the eyebrows), they can also negatively affect one’s appearance. Without identifying the underlying cause, treatment may be ineffective or inappropriate. So, what causes acne on the glabella?

Causes of Glabellar Acne

The primary causes of comedones (blackheads/whiteheads) in the glabellar region include the following: 1. Excessive or imbalanced sebum production in the local area. If not properly cleansed, excess sebum can clog pores, leading to comedone formation. 2. Chronic sleep deprivation, irregular sleep patterns, or poor sleep quality—these disrupt normal hepatic metabolism and cause endocrine imbalance, thereby disturbing hormonal homeostasis. Hormonal fluctuations, particularly elevated androgen levels, can indirectly stimulate overactivity of the sebaceous glands, predisposing the glabella to acne. 3. Frequent consumption of fried foods, high-fat meals, and high-sugar diets increases caloric intake and internal heat, accelerating metabolism and promoting sebaceous gland secretion. This may exacerbate skin inflammation and impair metabolic clearance, thereby increasing the likelihood of acne development.

If the patient is in puberty, hormonal fluctuations are common and glabellar acne is considered a normal physiological phenomenon. With proper skincare and avoidance of picking or squeezing, symptoms typically resolve gradually over time. In female patients, premenstrual acne is often associated with transient hormonal imbalances and usually resolves spontaneously after menstruation ends.

Avoid excessively spicy foods, and reduce consumption of hotpot and instant noodles. Opt instead for lighter, more balanced meals. We hope this information proves helpful to you!
