Hello, the typical time from diagnosis to death for vascular dementia in the elderly is generally 3–7 years. Due to limitations of current diagnostic methods for Alzheimer’s disease, as well as low disease awareness among patients and their families, many patients are not diagnosed until the disease has already progressed to the middle or late stages. Consequently, the exact survival duration varies depending on individual circumstances. With improvements in cognitive function and care quality for patients with early-stage dementia, the disease course for certain types of dementia in the elderly may extend beyond 10 years.
