In hot weather, this may predispose individuals to miliaria (heat rash) and associated nipple pruritus. Conversely, during winter, the area may become dry—particularly the nipple and areola—which repeatedly rub against the bra fabric; such friction can further exacerbate dryness, potentially leading to nipple itching.
