How to treat shoulder and cervical spine pain
Disease description:
I drive for long hours every day and have recently developed cervical spondylosis, accompanied by shoulder pain. How should I treat the pain in my neck and shoulders?
Shoulder and cervical spine pain can be managed with traction and conservative treatment. In the early stages of cervical spondylosis, conservative treatment is often appropriate; however, for myelopathic cervical spondylosis, conservative measures are generally ineffective, and surgical intervention is typically required. Initially, patients may experience radicular neuropathic pain on one side, radiating from the upper arm down through the forearm to the hand. Patients should rest adequately and avoid strenuous physical activity. Intermittent cervical traction and immobilization using a cervical collar may be employed.
