What causes rectal bleeding after using glycerin suppositories?
Disease description:
I’ve experienced constipation over the past two days, and after using glycerin suppositories, I noticed blood in my stool. Why does rectal bleeding occur after using glycerin suppositories?
Bleeding during defecation after using glycerin enema may result from improper administration—for instance, excessive force or incorrect insertion angle—which can injure the skin or mucosa of the anorectal region. Additionally, bleeding may be caused by internal hemorrhoids, particularly when constipation leads to straining during bowel movements.
