What are the causes of tinnitus accompanied by hearing loss?
Disease description:
I’ve been experiencing tinnitus for the past few days, accompanied by hearing loss. I’d like to know what causes tinnitus associated with hearing impairment.
Tinnitus accompanied by hearing loss may result from damage to the auditory nerve or could be caused by an acoustic neuroma. If it is due to auditory nerve injury, patients may receive treatment under a physician’s guidance with neurotrophic medications—such as vitamin B1 tablets—and may also benefit from adjunctive traditional Chinese medicine therapies like acupuncture. If caused by an acoustic neuroma, surgical resection of the lesion is required for improvement.
