In general, symptoms may be relieved or eliminated through standardized treatment, but tinnitus caused by some complex underlying conditions can be difficult to completely cure.

If tinnitus is caused by ear diseases such as external auditory canal cerumen impaction or otitis media, the symptoms can be treated through professional removal of the cerumen, antibiotic treatment for otitis media, or surgical repair of the damaged middle ear structures. If the underlying cause is clear and treatment is timely, tinnitus symptoms can be completely relieved.

If tinnitus is caused by inner ear diseases or neurological conditions, such as neural hearing loss or sudden sensorineural hearing loss, the treatment outcomes tend to be more complex. Early and timely administration of medications that dilate blood vessels, nourish nerves, and improve microcirculation may help relieve tinnitus symptoms in some patients. However, for tinnitus with a long disease course that progressively worsens, especially age-related tinnitus and drug-induced ototoxic tinnitus, treatment is more challenging and a complete cure may not always be possible.

The effectiveness of tinnitus treatment varies depending on the underlying cause. Most patients with tinnitus can experience improvement or resolution of symptoms through active treatment. However, treating tinnitus is often an ongoing process that may require regular evaluation and adjustment of the treatment plan.
