Symptoms of ligament strain
Disease description:
I went out to play badminton this afternoon and sprained my ankle. It's really painful now. The nurse at the clinic said it's a ligament strain. What are the symptoms of a ligament strain?
Symptoms of a ligament sprain include local swelling, pain, tenderness, subcutaneous bruising, and purple skin. A noticeable swelling occurs after the ligament is injured, which may affect joint movement. The affected area must be properly immobilized to prevent further activity of the injured limb, avoiding more serious injury. Short-term immobilization with a cast or brace is recommended.
