How to treat vulvovaginal candidiasis
Disease description:
I've had itching in the vulva and increased vaginal discharge recently. After a hospital examination, I was diagnosed with vulvovaginal candidiasis. How is vulvovaginal candidiasis treated?
Vulvovaginal candidiasis is generally treated with medications, douching, and other methods. Patients may use Baihe cleansing lotion for washing, or, under a doctor's guidance, insert metronidazole-clotrimazole suppositories into the vagina, or take oral metronidazole. It is important to maintain personal hygiene by bathing regularly, wearing breathable underwear, and keeping the vulva clean and dry. Spicy and irritating foods should be avoided. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment to prevent cross-infection.
