Can B-ultrasound detect pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, and endometritis?
Disease description:
For the past two days, I've noticed abnormal vaginal discharge and occasional abdominal pain. A friend suggested it might be pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, or endometritis, and recommended an ultrasound at the hospital. Can an ultrasound detect pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, or endometritis?
Whether pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, or endometritis can be detected by B-ultrasound depends on the specific circumstances. If the inflammation is severe and has led to obvious abnormalities such as pelvic masses, these conditions can generally be identified through B-ultrasound examination. However, if the symptoms are mild, B-ultrasound often cannot clearly reveal changes, and a definitive diagnosis would require a gynecological internal examination.
