Can kidney function tests and routine urinalysis detect nephritis?
Disease description:
I think I might have nephritis. I'd like to know whether kidney function tests and routine urinalysis can detect nephritis.
Kidney function tests may not detect nephritis, but routine urinalysis can generally identify it. The diagnosis of nephritis includes urine tests such as routine urinalysis, 24-hour urinary protein quantification, urine red blood cell morphology, and phase-contrast urine microscopy. Additionally, kidney function tests, renal ultrasound, and kidney biopsy are needed to comprehensively evaluate the severity and type of nephritis.
