What illness causes occasional pricking pain in the testicles?
Disease description:
Under normal circumstances, there is usually no problem; however, sometimes the testicle experiences a pricking pain. What condition could cause such pricking pain in the testicle?
Occasionally, needle-like pain in the testicles is generally caused by conditions such as orchitis or scrotal eczema. For treatment of this condition, elevate the scrotum and apply local heat therapy. If there is severe swelling of the scrotal skin, moist heat application with magnesium sulfate solution can be used, along with taking anti-inflammatory medication. Scrotal eczema is another relatively common skin disorder. It is important to keep the affected area dry; if necessary, oral cetirizine (e.g., Xisamin) may be taken.
