What causes swelling and pain in the left testicle?
Disease description:
The right testicle is completely fine, but there is significant swelling and pain in the left testicle. What could be causing the swelling and pain in the left testicle?
Left testicular swelling and pain are generally caused by testicular torsion or similar conditions. Testicular torsion and ischemia of the spermatic cord can lead to testicular pain, which may progressively worsen over time. Prompt medical attention is required for manual or surgical detorsion. Additionally, varicocele can cause disturbances in blood flow, resulting in testicular pain. Furthermore, ischemic testicular pain may be caused by atherosclerosis of the testicular artery.
