The doctor said my child has a vitamin D deficiency, but it's not severe—just mild. How should I supplement vitamin D for my child?

Dr. Wang Lei
Children with vitamin D deficiency can consume foods such as egg yolks and fish. For supplementation, oral vitamin D3 or vitamin AD drops are recommended. In cases of mild vitamin D deficiency, children can get adequate sun exposure daily and take appropriate oral vitamin D supplements. When children show symptoms of vitamin D deficiency, calcium deficiency often occurs simultaneously; therefore, it is best to supplement both vitamin D and calcium together.
