How to determine if you have night blindness
Disease description:
I have a bit of trouble seeing at night—could it be night blindness? How can I tell if I have night blindness?
Patients with night blindness have relatively good vision during the day but experience poor vision at night or in dark environments. In addition to blurred vision, they may also suffer from dry eyes. For patients with night blindness, tests such as electroretinography, visual evoked potentials, and fundus examinations should be performed to evaluate retinal pigmentary degeneration, optic nerve abnormalities, and other related conditions. Typically, after the onset of night blindness, if accompanied by vitamin A deficiency, symptoms such as dry eyes and dizziness may also occur.
