My stomach has been hurting a bit these past two days. After a medical check-up, I was diagnosed with cervical inflammation. What causes cervical inflammation?

Cervicitis may result from cervical damage caused by improper sexual practices, multiple deliveries, or repeated abortions. It could also be due to persistent irritation of the cervix by foreign bodies, leading to local infection. Frequent douching with alkaline or acidic solutions can cause local irritation, while a decline in estrogen levels may disrupt the natural acidic environment of the vagina, making it easier for pathogenic bacteria to grow and potentially trigger cervicitis.
