I've had lower abdominal pain and increased vaginal discharge for the past couple of days. After an examination, the doctor diagnosed me with cervical inflammation. What causes cervical inflammation?

There are various causes of cervical inflammation, such as poor personal hygiene, unhealthy sexual practices, and frequent induced abortions. If one does not maintain proper personal hygiene, bacterial or pathogenic infections can easily lead to cervical inflammation. Frequent sexual activity or having multiple sexual partners may introduce different pathogens into the cervix, also resulting in cervical inflammation. Repeated induced abortions can cause irreversible damage to the cervix, which over time often leads to cervical inflammation.
