What is the difference between vocal cord nodules and vocal polyps?
Disease description:
These past few days, the child has been experiencing slight throat discomfort, hoarseness, and a sensation of a foreign body. What is the difference between vocal cord nodules and vocal polyps?
Vocal nodules and vocal polyps generally differ in specific aspects such as symptoms, location of the lesion, and causes. Vocal nodules are epithelial tissue lesions, most commonly caused by excessive use of the voice. Under the epithelial tissue, the causes are more complex and the symptoms tend to be relatively more severe than those of vocal cord nodules. Patients should visit a nearby hospital during sick leave when unwell. After diagnosis, patients should drink plenty of water and minimize talking.
