Disease description:
A few days later, my ear became inflamed and affected my hearing. I went to a local hospital and was diagnosed with external otitis. My ears were cleaned and anti-inflammatory medication was prescribed. I felt my hearing had improved, but after completing the course of medication, my hearing problems returned. How long does it take to recover from acute external otitis?
Acute external otitis may take about two weeks to resolve and could be caused by irregular diet or excessive internal heat. During this period, consume more bland foods. Only a small number of patients develop severe conditions. Necrotizing otitis externa may require surgical intervention. In general, otitis externa can be managed on an outpatient basis. If the disease recurs frequently, the treatment course cannot be considered definitive.
