Acute vulvitis can be treated with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory medications as prescribed by a doctor, such as azithromycin, metronidazole, tinidazole, or nystatin tablets. Concurrently, topical treatments may be used, including Coptisine wash, metronidazole lotion, or potassium permanganate sitz baths. After cleaning, topical ointments such as clotrimazole cream, levofloxacin cream, or erythromycin ointment can be applied locally. It is advisable to visit a hospital for routine vaginal discharge testing to select the appropriate antibiotic.
