Patients with hypotension accompanied by edema should not take hydrochlorothiazide tablets. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic primarily used for individuals with high blood pressure. Taking it can further lower blood pressure in those with hypotension, leading to discomforts such as dizziness and palpitations. For the treatment of edema associated with hypotension, digoxin and spironolactone may be used under medical guidance.
