Hormonal treatment for autoimmune sialadenitis
Disease description:
The patient is a 71-year-old with dacryoadenitis. I would like to ask about the hormonal treatment for immune-related dacryoadenitis?
Dacryoadenitis is a condition characterized by acute swelling and enlargement of the lacrimal gland due to infection or idiopathic inflammation. Amoxicillin capsules are recommended for infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing strains. A penicillin sodium skin test must be performed before use; the drug is contraindicated in individuals with positive skin test reactions. It is also contraindicated in patients allergic to penicillin or those with a positive penicillin skin test. Pregnant women should only use this medication when clearly necessary. Since small amounts of amoxicillin may be excreted in breast milk, nursing mothers taking this drug may cause allergic reactions in their infants.
