One week after cataract surgery, patients can begin to perceive light. On the first day following surgery, the eye must be covered to ensure adequate rest, and it can be opened on the second day. After surgery, bed rest is recommended; avoid rubbing or bumping the eye, and refrain from strenuous activities for at least two weeks. Take care not to splash dirty water into the eye when bathing, washing hair, or washing the face. For one month after surgery, vigorous exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided to prevent excessive strain and elevated intraocular pressure, which could lead to wound dehiscence.
