Dr. Wang Shuai
Cataract is a common eye condition characterized by clouding of the lens of the eye, leading to decreased vision. The main treatment is surgery. The most commonly used method currently is phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation. This surgery accesses the inside of the eye through a small incision, uses ultrasound waves to emulsify the cloudy lens, which is then aspirated, followed by implantation of a clear artificial lens to restore vision. Prior to the surgery, a comprehensive eye examination will be performed to determine the surgical plan. The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia and is quick and safe. After surgery, attention should be paid to eye hygiene, rubbing the eyes should be avoided, and antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops should be used as directed by the physician to prevent infection. Note: When cataracts affect your daily life and work, seek medical attention immediately.
