Early symptoms of chronic dacryoadenitis
Disease description:
I was previously diagnosed with lacrinitis at the hospital, but I haven't treated it. Now it might have become chronic. What are the early symptoms of chronic dacryoadenitis?
The early symptoms of chronic dacryocystitis include a firm, movable, and non-tender mass palpable on the outer upper side of the eyelid, accompanied by mild ptosis. The eye shows limited downward movement toward the nose and restricted upward and outward rotation. Diplopia and proptosis are rare. Chronic dacryocystitis may develop from acute dacryocystitis or result from the spread of inflammation from adjacent tissues. It is a slowly progressive proliferative inflammation. Patients with chronic dacryocystitis should seek medical treatment as early as possible to prevent worsening of the condition and avoid complications in treatment.
