Etiology of chronic dacryoadenitis
Disease description:
The village notified us a couple of days ago to go for a medical checkup. I was diagnosed with chronic dacryoadenitis. Why did I get this disease?
Chronic dacryoadenitis is a slowly progressive proliferative inflammation, usually affecting both sides. The main cause is immune reaction, but it can also result from trachoma or tuberculosis, the latter often spreading via hematogenous route. In addition, sarcoidosis, benign lymphocytic disorders, lymphoma, and leukemia may present as chronic dacryoadenitis and can involve the lacrimal gland. Etiology can be confirmed by biopsy. Maintain good hygiene habits, avoid rubbing your eyes with hands, and use clean handkerchiefs.
