Treatment for dry eye syndrome and conjunctivitis may include topical use of artificial tears, such as 1% cellulose derivative four times daily, and 20% high-viscosity eye ointment applied once or twice nightly before sleep. Antibiotic eye drops or ointments may be used if secondary infection occurs. Punctal occlusion can help reduce tear outflow, and wearing hydrophilic soft contact lenses may provide relief. Maintain good eye hygiene and avoid prolonged use of electronic devices such as smartphones and computers.
